The Final Bow of C1: A Night to Remember, A Legacy to Carry

Some nights change you. You walk in with a smile, but you leave with a full heart and a quiet lump in your throat.

June 14th, 2025. Raffles Banquet, Colombo. That was the night we wore our badges with just a little more weight. The night the stage lights felt warmer, the applause hit deeper, and every photo taken felt like a memory being sealed.

It was the 20th Annual District Conference of Leo District 306 C1 — and it was our last. Our final project before the district we grew up in, served in, and loved… gracefully stepped aside to make way for Leo Districts 306 D6 and 306 D9.

I remember walking into the hall, trying to soak it all in — the banners, the familiar faces, the mix of celebration and something else quietly stirring beneath it. Was it sadness? Pride? Maybe both.

Because this wasn’t just a celebration.
It was a goodbye.
And a promise.

We were there not just to collect awards.
We were there to honour a legacy two decades deep — and to carry it forward.

💙 A Legacy Worth Celebrating

From the very start, the Leo Club of Kolonnawa committed itself to leaving behind more than trophies — we committed to leaving behind impact. Whether through social initiatives, awareness campaigns, creative digital transformation, or grassroots community work, we showed what teamwork rooted in service could accomplish.

This year, we didn’t just participate — we led. From digital leadership to cultural peacebuilding, our members took on bold projects and executed them with compassion and precision.

To every single Leo in the Leo Club of Kolonnawa — thank you. You brought heart, humour, resilience, and brilliance into every project, every meeting, and every late-night brainstorm. You were the spirit behind the trophies, the reason the applause felt earned, and the proof that Leoism is alive and well in the hands of our generation.

To Leo Nandeesha Geeganage, our Club President — thank you for leading us through this final year of C1 with patience, power, and vision. You never asked for credit, but your leadership was written into every win we celebrated.

And to Leo Nisal Dulmith, our District President — and one of our very own — thank you for being the strength beneath this district’s final stride. Your guidance wasn’t just felt — it was carried forward by every club you touched, every Leo you believed in.

🔥 From C1 to What Comes Next…

This wasn’t just a closing chapter — it was a promise to keep serving, keep leading, and keep being the light in someone else’s story.

As we prepare to step into Leo Districts 306 D6 and D9, we do so not with sadness — but with strength. What we built in C1 will live on through us. Through our memories. Through our service.

To the past — thank you.
To the present — we honor you.
To the future — we’re coming. Together.
With pride, with purpose — always Kolonnawa.
