On Saturday, 9th November 2024, the Leos of Kolonnawa and CINEC joined forces with the Lions Club of Gothatuwa New Century Leos and the Lions Club of Gothatuwa New Town for a transformative day at the Gothatuwa Paramitha Viharaya. The event, aptly titled Nirogi Hetak (A Healthier Tomorrow), brought together Leos, Lions, and volunteers to serve the local community through various impactful health programs.
A Day of Service and Care
Under the esteemed presence of District Governor Lion Saman Jinadasa MJF MAF, the initiative focused on improving access to essential healthcare services for individuals of all ages. The event included:
- Eye Screenings and Spectacles Distribution:
Over 200 pairs of spectacles were distributed, helping to restore clarity and improve quality of life. - Diabetic Check-Ups:
Critical screenings raised awareness about diabetes and its management. - Blood Donation Camp:
A significant number of donors stepped forward, contributing to life-saving blood reserves. - Childhood Cancer Awareness Program:
