District Orientation Program 2024
New members, whom we proudly call prospects, join the Leo movement for various reasons. Many are drawn by the sense of fellowship and a shared desire to improve their communities. However, the Leo movement is far more than just a community service organization—its roots delve deep into leadership, teamwork, and youth empowerment. The Orientation Program serves as the perfect introduction, helping new members uncover the true essence of Leoism.
On Saturday, June 29th, 2024, the District Orientation Program welcomed enthusiastic new prospects from Leo District 306 C1 to the CINEC Auditorium. This impactful event was hosted by the Leo Club of CINEC Campus, with the Leo Clubs of Kolonnawa and Thalangama Malabe collaborating, ensuring a warm and informative welcome to the next generation of Leos.
Participants were immersed in the world of Leoism, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Leo Club Program, its mission, structure, and the responsibilities they will undertake as future Leos. The program spotlighted leadership development, the importance of teamwork, and the value of giving back through community service in Sri Lanka.
One of the key highlights was the focus on the Leo-Lions collaboration, showcasing how Lions Clubs International and Leo Clubs work hand in hand to make a global impact. Prospects learned how this partnership empowers youth while fostering skills development and leadership opportunities for youth in Sri Lanka.
Key district leaders, including Leo Nisal Dulmith FLM (District President) and Leo Anjana Udesh FLM (District Vice President), shared inspiring insights. Their motivational speeches encouraged us to embrace challenges, develop leadership skills, and contribute meaningfully to the community. Their words reinforced the idea that the Leo movement is a unique platform for young leaders in Sri Lanka to grow, connect, and create lasting change.
The District Orientation Program wasn’t just an introduction; it was a call to action, igniting the passion for service and leadership among these future Leos. Events like these ensure the Leo movement in Sri Lanka continues to thrive, empowering youth and fostering a culture of positive change.
