His first project experience at the Viharamahadevi Children’s Home made a lasting impact. Stepping up as a young prospect to compere the project event, he realized how deeply fulfilling service through Leoism could be. From that day forward, his commitment to youth empowerment grew stronger.

Motivated by a desire to serve and innovate, Leo Dilan rose steadily within the club. Before his presidency, he served as Assistant Secretary and then Secretary. These roles allowed him to develop key leadership skills and gave him insight into the club’s operations and culture.

Taking on the presidency in 2021 meant facing unique challenges. The world was still emerging from the shadow of COVID-19, and many activities were restricted. Leo Dilan had to quickly adapt, leading many meetings and initiatives online while planning a return to physical events whenever possible.
His leadership helped transition the club from virtual activities back to impactful, physical projects, ensuring that the club’s momentum and spirit of service were never lost.

Participation at District and Multiple District levels also helped forge strong bonds with Leos from other clubs, reinforcing the sense of belonging to a wider movement of youth empowerment and leadership.
How Leoism Shaped His Life
Reflecting on his journey, Leo Dilan credits Leoism for shaping him not just into a leader but into a better human being. It strengthened his thinking, polished his communication skills, and most importantly, taught him the value of service above self.
