Seeds of Peace 2.0: A Journey Through Time

On August 22, 2024, the Leo Club of Kolonnawa proudly presented Seeds of Peace 2.0: A Journey Through Time, an event fostering cultural exchange and unity among 1,000 beneficiaries. This initiative celebrated Korean culture, connecting the Korean community, students, and the public while promoting peace and mutual understanding.

The event provided an engaging platform for Korean language students to showcase their skills and immerse themselves in cultural practices. Highlights included traditional performances, K-Pop showcases, and authentic Korean cuisine, offering a dynamic blend of heritage and modernity. These experiences strengthened bonds within the Korean community and introduced cultural enthusiasts to the richness of Korean traditions.

As organizers, we ensured seamless execution by managing logistics, coordinating performances, and leading publicity efforts that amplified the event’s impact. In collaboration with the Institute of Human Resource Advancement and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, this initiative showcased the strength of partnerships in fostering meaningful cultural exchange.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals—Quality Education (Goal 4) and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (Goal 16)—this event enhanced cultural awareness and strengthened diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Korea. It inspired students to deepen their engagement with Korean studies, nurturing future cultural ambassadors and fostering global understanding.

Seeds of Peace 2.0 celebrated a vibrant cultural legacy while laying the foundation for sustainable initiatives that continue to build bridges and promote inclusivity for years to come.
