Final Monthly Meeting of the Leoistic Year 2024/25
A Leoistic year begins on July 1st and ends on June 30th, shaping the calendar of Leo Clubs across the world. But for us, it’s more than just a timeline. It’s a structured chapter of growth, challenges, and purpose. Each year brings new leaders, new energy, and new goals — not only for the projects we take on, but for how we grow as individuals committed to service. The Leoistic year becomes a container for transformation, for accountability, and for reflection.
An Evening That Meant More Than a Meeting
On April 20th, we came together for the final Monthly General Meeting of the Leoistic Year 2024/25. It was held at a meaningful venue — the residence of District President Leo Nisal Dulmith. That setting gave this meeting a quiet tone of closure. There was no loud celebration. No dramatic send-off. Just calm presence, steady appreciation, and an unspoken understanding of what this year had meant to all of us.
Reflections on a Year of Growth
Our Club President, Leo Nandeesha Geeganage, began the meeting with a reflection on what we had achieved — and how far we had come. From impactful projects to strengthened team dynamics, it became clear just how much growth had taken place beneath the surface. The past year wasn’t perfect. But it was real. And we grew through it.
A Message from Our District President
When District President Leo Nisal Dulmith spoke, he shared his gratitude for the support our club had given him throughout his term. He spoke with warmth — but also clarity — about what comes next. He reminded us of the final celebrations and events still to come: Leo Avurudu in Kandy, a traditional highlight that will mark the last Avurudu under District 306 C1. Then comes C1 FM in May, which will officially be the final district project ever carried out under the 306 C1 identity. He also spoke about the 20th Conference of Leo District 306 C1, a moment of reflection for the entire district, but also a subtle competition between clubs — one final push to show what we’ve built before we move forward.
These three events will close not just a year — but an entire chapter. With the transition to Districts 306 D6 and 306 D9, Leo District 306 C1 will become part of Leo history. It’s a milestone that’s emotional for some, and exciting for others — but no one is leaving empty-handed. We’re all bringing what we built into what’s next.
In a moment that felt particularly meaningful to our team, the District President also praised our Leo Club website and the Witness newsletter, calling them outstanding projects that reflect the digital growth and communication strength of our club. For those of us who worked on them, it was a proud and validating moment.
Grounded by Our Roots
Our Leo Club Advisor then shared a few words. His message grounded the meeting in perspective. He reminded us that a Leo Club doesn’t stand alone — it stands because of its connection to the sponsoring Lions Club.

He spoke about the bond between a Leo Advisor and Club President, and how that link keeps the club aligned, supported, and focused. It’s a reminder that behind every visible achievement, there are relationships — and responsibilities — that hold everything together.
Looking Ahead with Confidence
This meeting didn’t feel sad. It felt certain. We weren’t mourning the end of something. We were acknowledging a cycle that had run its course — and already reaching toward the next one.
And that next chapter will be led by Leo Dylen Wolff, who will step into the role of Club President for the Leoistic Year 2025/26. Dylen is already in the process of building his team — one that’s structured, energized, and focused. The conversations have started. The vision is in motion. There’s momentum already — not only to carry forward the strengths we’ve built, but to grow further and think bigger.
The promise of continuity is strong. But so is the promise of new leadership, new approaches, and new space for more Leos to step up and lead.
Thank You for Showing Up
Looking around that evening, it was clear that while we were closing a year, we were not closing our commitment. That continues — in every project to come, every member who stays involved, and every decision to lead by example.
To every member who showed up this year — thank you. You made this club stronger, even when it was hard. You made the difference by being present, by supporting others, and by remembering why you joined in the first place. It’s not about perfect attendance or flashy recognition. It’s about effort. It’s about care. It’s about showing up.
“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.” – Vincent Van Gogh
This was one of those small things. And it mattered.
As we close this chapter and prepare for the next, we do so with gratitude, clarity, and a quiet sense of strength.
